This position is responsible for leading IT audits under the guidance of the assigned audit manager or assigned co-source partner. Set the scope of the audit, review, and test. This position serves as a resource to reduce risks and consults with department leaders on findings, causes of irregularities and error, and advises when changes are necessary to ensure proper and adequate control.
This position will champion the use of data and data analytics within the audit area. Help to normalize the use of data analytics concepts and tools to identify opportunities for continuous auditing or continuous monitoring philosophies. While primarily an individual contributor role, this position will supervise a small number of audit staff and is responsible for their development.

What you do
- Champion the use of data analytics concepts and tools to identify ideal processes for incorporating data analytics in audit processes while further developing Audit team knowledge.
- Directs the planning of highly technical audit work for assigned projects, including the preparation of audit programs and the identification of audit techniques. Leads planning meetings with auditees and incorporates their concerns into the audit approach.
- Participate in ongoing risk assessment process to identify and assess key risks facing the business to assist in determining the audit plan as required by regulatory requirements and/or evaluation of business risk.
- Conducts detailed reviews of assigned organizational and functional activities and evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of management controls.
- Prepares workpapers documenting the results of the tests, including formal audit comments, which identify and quantify the impact on business operations.
- Performs quality review of the work of others to assure completeness and accuracy to coach and appraise the performance of assigned staff.
- Demonstrates the use of critical thinking, maintains curiosity, and exercises professional skepticism.
- Facilitate a culture of continuous improvement, challenging the status quo to find new and better ways.
- Serves as a technical resource and assists other professionals on the staff, in areas such as audit skills, project management, and data analytics.
- Creates productive working relationships with business stakeholders and staff.
- Continues to develop professionally through self-study and on-the-job training.
- Assists in the coordination and implementation of audit work for external auditors.
- Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- 2-4 years of overall experience in the field of IT audit, audit, or a combination of the two required
- Knowledge of COBIT or other leading IT control frameworks and NIST information security standards required
- Certifications including CIA (Certified Internal Auditor), CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor), or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) are desired
- Experience with Python and data analytics concepts/tools is strongly desired
