This is a hybrid role working partially in-office and partially from home. This role can be based out of our Lincoln, NE, Schaumburg, IL, Norcross, GA, Durham, NC, or Charlotte, NC offices.

The Manager, Group Underwriting is responsible for achieving overall underwriting results by planning objectives and coordinating work for teams, and is responsible for underwriting and overseeing issuance of new business or renewal on large or key accounts. This position establishes best practices for achieving top and bottom-line results and interacts with others to solve difficult problems.

What you do
- Create a high performing culture through associate and business resources.
- Design and implement programs or processes to achieve business results.
- Identify and resolve problems for both internal and external parties.
- Monitor and evaluate adherence to regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Develop partnerships within the organization to engage in cross-functional business initiatives.
- Manage overall associate development, recruitment, engagement, retention, training, and performance.
- May underwrite or direct underwriting for key accounts and/or complex new business and renewal groups by various distribution systems.
- Manage budget and expenses.
- Lead implementation and ongoing management of medium-sized projects.
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
- 4-7 years Group Underwriting experience required
- 2-4 years Supervisory Experience preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
