Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Completes the medication administration training. Hands-on-training also needs to be completed with RN yearly.
- Works closely with the school nurse and communicates with staff, students, and parents.
- Greets and accommodates students, parents, and staff; handles incoming telephone calls and takes messages as appropriate.
- Handles confidential information ethically.
- Completes certification for First Aid (depending on educational background/experience) and CPR, including AED use.
- Administers first aid and prescribed medication that must be taken during school hours.
- Promotes a safe and healthy school environment.
- Electronically documents Health Office Visits.
- Files records according to nurse guidelines - assists in maintaining health records, office filing.
- Assists in ordering, distributing, and maintaining the inventory of health supplies.
- Provides immediate care to students or staff and notify nurse of acute injury or illness.
- Completes Mandatory Reporter and Bloodborne Pathogens yearly.
- Assists with vision and dental audits.
- Follows ACSD board policy for student illness and injury at school.
- Creates a sense of belonging and welcoming environment to all students and staff.
- Attends work on a consistent and punctual basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of high school diploma.
- Complete certification for First Aid (depending on educational background/experience) and CPR, including AED use.
- Previous healthcare experience preferred.
