What are the responsibilities and job description for the Language Based Learning Disabilities Teacher position at Amesbury Middle School?
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree preferred
Massachusetts teaching Certification/Licensure in Special Education
Certification in Wilson, Orton Gillingham Instruction, or LiPs training is Preferred.
REPORTS TO:Middle School Principal
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide direct instruction to students with language-based learning disabilities.
Use innovative approaches, and instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies, to increase student learning and confidence to learn.
Deliver consistent instruction in either in-person, hybrid or remote learning environments, as adopted by the district.
Implement a system of data collection to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet the specific needs of Students with language-based learning disabilities.
Collaborate with school staff for the purpose of improving the integration of LBLD students into the general education environment.
Present evidence of student progress toward goals and objectives through routine, written progress-monitoring and formal presentations at IEP meetings
Additional duties as assigned by the Principal or Director of Student Services.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:In accordance with the Amesbury Teacher’s Union Contract
EVALUATION:Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of school committee policy
