POSITION DESCRIPTION
AMETEK Process Instruments is looking for a high performing, dynamic Director of Sales to achieve revenue growth for the analytical instrumentation business. This position will be responsible for leading our sales organization, customer facing processes, consultative selling process and applications engineering management strategy to enable product solution growth leveraging unique technologies. The individual must demonstrate the ability to work in a demanding environment, effectively multi-tasking as a sales leader, as well as supporting and participating on the global business leadership team responsible for developing and executing the business growth strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership to the global sales team to secure profitable growth.
- Develop and drive new sales within existing/core markets as well as accelerating sales growth opportunities in emerging Green/Clean Energy markets.
- Conduct regular reviews with the sales team and channel partners and build effective channels of communication, understand training/development needs, that provides feedback to continually improve individual and collective performance.
- Support customer satisfaction programs to reinforce the ‘customer first’ AMETEK’s value and commitment to all customers.
- Maintaining established client relationships with Key Accounts.
- Provide input to product management that helps define and quantify new markets, applications, and competition, along with detailed new product requirements and definitions.
- Provide weekly/monthly/quarterly orders forecasts as required.
- Mobility and willingness to travel on a global basis (anticipated: on average 40%).
- This is a salary exempt position. Hours over 40 per week can be expected.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
- Team orientated with strong leadership, communication, mentoring and interpersonal skills.
- Proven commercial background achieving aggressive sales targets, with experience negotiating complex technical contracts.
- Minimum 10 years successful sales management experience.
- Minimum 10 years in a process-manufacturing role or serving oil & gas, petrochemicals or chemicals industries.
- Ability to translate technical product information into strong customer value propositions.
- Strong team player with the ability to work successfully in a multi-national organization.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or another related technical degree. MBA is desirable.
ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE
- This position reports to the Division Vice President & Business Manager
ASSIGNMENT AND REVIEW OF WORK
- Key financial metrics will be assigned annually and measured monthly/quarterly.
- Specific milestones set by the Division Vice President & Business Manager
DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY
- This is a senior role, and the position holder will be expected to make decisions concerning scope and profitability of large customer opportunities.
- Decision making authority in line with business unit DLA.
