Summary
The Engineering Project Manager leads technical projects tied to business unit objectives and performance. This position manages projects from conception through value collection and ensures projects deliver budgeted benefits within quality, schedule, and scope. The Engineering Project Manager will manage internal and external resources to effectively implement project initiatives that drive productivity and promote growth by meeting customer expectations.
Job Responsibilities
- Work with site management, technical staff, suppliers, and customers to ensure projects are aligned with strategy, expectations, and budget.
- Define and manage project risks and implement actions to mitigate risks.
- Define and measure performance criteria, develop timelines, estimate capital budgets, and manage spending.
- Align resources and provide ongoing analysis of financial and schedule performance.
- Develop and manage team deliverables required for successful project completion
- Develop and implement a strategy to achieve site goals and production ramp-up targets
- Prepare project presentations and status reports for senior management.
- Provide technical direction on product and process development and facility and equipment investments needed to satisfy expectations.
- Lead the team to define program goals; and assign project tasks to ensure the team meets all commitments.
- Provide technical support for all project phases; product/process development, project execution, and transition into manufacturing.
- Manage all project requirements, including engineering design, equipment evaluation and procurement, contractor selection, and coordination of all project resources to ensure successful project execution, validation, and manufacturing implementation.
Job Requirements
- 5 to 10 years of engineering leadership experience (Aerospace industry preferred)
- Extensive knowledge and experience working with manufacturing systems (ERP) and implementing manufacturing strategies (lean methods).
- A successful project management track record, including critical metric identification and measurement.
- Excellent written and verbal skills, strong presentation, and meeting management skills.
- Proven leadership, decision-making, and relationship/matrix management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to function at both a strategic and tactical level.
Education / Training
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering preferred.
- Strong and complementary computer skills (e.g., MS Office, MS Visio, MS Project, etc.).
- PMP Certification is a plus.
- Experience in Aerospace chemical processing (AS9100 and Nadcap) is a plus
