In this vital role you will be a part of Amgen’s Process Development organization, MCS continuously strives to be a leader in delivering superior, high quality manufacturing processes and commercially successful product presentations. The MCS organization is responsible for delivery of clinical and commercial products, process knowledge and technology solutions to advance Amgen’s product portfolio and manufacturing strategy.
As part of the Manufacturing and Clinical Supply team, the successful candidate, under minimal direction, will be responsible for managing high priority projects spanning across the organization. Successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment and includes management of issues, risks and, project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan and implement projects
- Help define project scope, goals and deliverables
- Define tasks and required resources
- Manage project teams, create project schedules, and timelines
- Track deliverables, monitor, and report on project progress
- Present reports on progress as well as problems and solutions to stakeholders
- Implement and manage change to meet project outputs
- Assess project results post implementation

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management or life science and 5 years of experience in Operations/life science industry Or
Associate’s degree & 10 years of experience in Operations/life science Or
High school diploma / GED & 12 years of experience in Operations/life science
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or MS in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or other engineering disciplines with 5 years of experience in Operations/life science
- Demonstrated ability to develop and work in a high-performing environment
- Ability to communicate and collaborate across various parts of the organization
- Ability to have foresight to identify project needs, navigate business problems, hold team accountable to actionable resolution efforts
- Adept in breaking down complex issues into concise analytical packages and executive messages to enable prompt decision making
- Demonstration of strong analytical skills, good business acumen, high-level strategic thinking and strong analytical skills
- The ability to effectively communicate and deliver concise messaging
- Strong interpersonal skills including teamwork, leadership, flexibility, listening skills
- Ability to operate in a matrixed team, works well in an ambiguous, ever changing environment
- Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain, drug development, and manufacturing processes
- Ability to manage a high-volume of projects simultaneously while consistently delivering quality end-product
- Strong interest in learning new things, ability to take on tasks with limited information and/or guidance
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities, priorities and tasks with minimal direction
- Experience with project management tools and collaboration practices including MS Teams, whiteboards/workshops, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Strong working knowledge of Smartsheets, MS Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
