**Your Role: Medical Biller/Collector Extraordinaire**
As a Medical Biller/Collector, you'll be the linchpin of our billing and collections process. Your experience, attention to detail, and proactive approach will help us ensure accurate reimbursements and smooth operations.
**What You'll Do:**
- Master the art of billing, collections, and reimbursement for specific patient accounts.
- Identify and correct errors in claims, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Champion the appeals process, fighting for additional benefits on wrongly processed claims.
- Initiate tracers and engage with insurance companies to secure rightful reimbursements.
- Handle correspondence regarding balances and updated insurance info.
- Collaborate with the Billing Manager on special projects and decisions.
**Qualifications We're Seeking:**
- At least one year of healthcare office experience with billing
- Deadline-driven mentality, even in high-volume settings.
- Experience with Workers Compensation billing is a big plus.
- Keep your cool under pressure, proactive in solving challenges, and detail-oriented.
- Lightning-fast and accurate keyboarding skills.
- Knowledgeable about Medical Terminology, ICD-10, and CPT coding.
- Familiarity with billing software; MediTab IMS software experience is a bonus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Working knowledge of OMFS and Worker's Compensation appeals and collections.
- Understanding of Medicare, Medi-Cal HMO Regulations, Commercial, PPO, and HMO Regulations.
- High school diploma or GED; Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is a plus.
