Summary
- The purpose of this position is to delegate and coordinate the efficient execution of all tasks within the assigned department/shift. This position will manage all assigned personnel in their efforts to achieve efficiencies and quality standards by working cohesively and following company policy and procedure.
Individual accountabilities
- Has overall accountability for and ownership of assigned department/shift.
- Mentor staff in achieving career goals. Owns the performance appraisal and goal setting process for all assigned personnel
- Set, delegate and monitor objectives to subordinate staff
- Maintain department organization and cleanliness using LEAN principles and delegating in a motivational manner
- Responsible for the efficient scheduling of personnel (shifts, breaks, PTO, etc)
- Responsible for approving and managing personnel weekly time cards.
- Responsible for developing and executing training plan for personnel within assigned area
- Responsible for interviewing and recommending candidates for hire or promotion
- Must foster a productive, inclusive, respective and professional work environment within assigned area
Shared accountabilities
- Liason with inter-company departments to ensure appropriate schedule attainment, availability of raw materials and quality standards are being met.
