Job Summary:
The BIM Technician is responsible for the application of Autodesk Inventor software in the detailed design of electric systems and components for Substation Facilities in accordance with applicable industry codes and standards.

The hourly range for this position is $21 / hour - Commensurate, dependent on experience, education, and skills. We also offer semi-annual profit-sharing bonuses based on company profits to share in the mutual success! In the past, these have ranged between 3.5% - 11.5% of annual salary.

Who You Are:
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree (ABET accredited university) in Engineering or Drafting/Design
- 4 years of Autodesk Inventor, AVEVA Everything3D, OpenUtilities Substation or other 3D modelling software experience in the Engineering/Design of Electrical, Mechanical, & Structural systems
- Superior interpersonal skills needed to operate within a matrix environment.
- MS Word/Excel skills
- Outstanding leadership skills required to build and motivate project teams.
- Advanced organizational skills required to manage multiple complex advanced software implementation projects ensuring cost schedule scope and quality is met.
- Superior interpersonal skills needed to operate within a matrix environment.
- Exceptional communication skills are necessary when called upon to represent the projects interfacing with internal & external stakeholders and reviewing project with management and customers.
- Excellent computer system skills required for taking advanced software and understanding the best methods to implement it on projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Using Autodesk Inventor software in the preparation of intelligent 3D layouts of electrical substation equipment;
- Catalog Intelligent Geometry in multiple platforms
- 2D drawings of equipment layouts, lighting, grounding, power distribution system, etc.
- 3D models of equipment layouts, lighting, grounding, power distribution system, etc.
- Coordinate with electrical engineer, senior designer and vendors to develop the intelligent geometry and drawings;
