Experience:
- 5 years of supporting and managing a broad portfolio of legal applications
- 5 years of designing application configurations, upgrade processes, and supporting documentation
- 3 years of supporting internal escalation and troubleshooting of applications
The Sr. Applications Analyst, under the direction of the Enterprise Applications and Engineering Manager, will serve as the senior product specialist for the firm’s legal application set. Collaborating with other IT peers and vendors, this individual will define, configure, and work to implement the user experience as it relates to the end-user computing environment. This role will be a member of the firm-wide Applications & Infrastructure team serving as the go-to subject matter expert for vendor applications that are used by the firm on a daily basis. The Sr. Applications Analyst will be responsible for maintaining the application portfolio for upgrades, configurations, and documentation.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
- Applies systems analysis techniques and procedures including consultation with users and leadership in formulating system requirements. Including, but not limited to, researching current or new technologies that address established requirements, advising users and management on available options, identifying and reporting on the implications of installing new or modifying current systems or configurations, and performing project management of application rollout projects.
- Design the user experience for the firms end-user computing environment. Including, but not limited to, Windows 10, Microsoft Office 365, Litera application suite (Forte, Metadact, Compare, DocXtools, Numbering, etc.) or similar products, Adobe Product Suite, and other legal applications.
- Collaborates with other IT staff, leads the planning, testing, and rollout of software upgrades as well as new system implementations within a Microsoft environment.
- Performs configuration management of firm applications. Provides oversight and backup support for regular maintenance of applications. Ensures preventative maintenance activities is regularly planned and implemented.
- Develop and maintain test plans for various applications.
- Present technical data to business stakeholders to help drive business decisions
- Act as point-of-contact for external vendors as it relates to support escalations and project initiatives (rollouts and upgrades)
- Contributes to and maintains technology support knowledgebase where appropriate.
- Provides escalated software support and problem-resolution to computer system users. This will include working closely with Technical Support (Help Desk) personnel to research, resolve, and document problems and their resolution
- Performs routine analysis, reviews existing processes/procedures/technologies and provide suggestions to streamline and optimize the environment
- Creates and updates documentation where appropriate
- Completes special projects on various technologies as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and customization options
- Strong knowledge of software applications and customization tactics
- Strong knowledge of legal applications and how they integrate in the legal desktop
- Excellent interpersonal skills including telephone skills, verbal and written communication skills, active listening and customer care.
- Communicates effectively in person and in writing, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical people
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with internal clients, firm leadership, peer team members, and outside vendors
- Strong troubleshooting knowledge with skills in decision making and strategic thinking
- Organized and consistently executes tasks effectively and efficiently
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience in lieu of degree
- Relevant vendor certifications, such as Microsoft Office Specialist, preferred
