What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician position at Amsted Automotive?
Amsted Automotive Group, Geneva Powder Metal Operation, seeks a Quality Technician. The work of Quality Technician is predominantly the development and establishment of quality systems, analysis of manufacturing process performance and resultant quality, the application of the quality control plan, and the continual improvement of the processes. This position will develop and maintain the quality planning that will support the quality objectives, financial metrics, and KPI’s. It will also support the plant engineering, production, and materials teams as well as oversee the control of measurement equipment (inspection, calibration, and testing) to drive customer satisfaction.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Promote, and execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodologies, and quality plans to support the goal of zero defects.
- Support and maintain the Quality Management System including reporting to the team on quality issues, trends, losses, and participating in internal and external audits..
- Engage with and support the APQP and PPAP processes to meet or exceed customer requirements.
- Support competency training programs that impact the process and customer satisfaction.
- Support highly effective corrective action to eliminate and prevent product and system nonconformities, both internal and external.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts and other activities to increase customer satisfaction and process performance.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
- Candidate working toward a Bachelor’s of Science in engineering or equivalent related experience required.
- Must have high personal ethical standards.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Minitab.
- Effective written and verbal communications at all levels of the organization.
