JobDescription

MajorDuties andResponsibilities :

• Warmlygreet incoming patients upon entering the practice and complete thecheckinprocess.
• Administrativeduties included answering telephones scheduling patientappointments per doctor preferences and transcribing messages forreturn calls andfaxes.
• Obtainand verify insurance eligibility for all applicable patients.Responsible for auditing and editing insurance claims asneeded.
• Scanningand entering routing slips and other documents intoEHR
• Confirmall appointments for the following day and reschedule noshowappointments. Also utilize the practices recallsystem.
• Pulland prepare charts for all patients scheduled for the followingday.
• Processingsales of contact lenses through phone calls or doctortransitions.
• Responsiblefor keeping the front desk organized at alltimes.
• Openingand closing procedures are determined bypractice.

RequiredSkills / Knowledge :

• Demonstratedflexibility in addressing a broad spectrum of patient requirementsandpreferences.
• Demonstratedability to cultivate positive patient rapport and buildrelationships while increasing patientretention.
• Strongcommunication skills (oral and written) with the proven ability tomanage priorities in a fastpacedenvironment.
• Abilityto multitask set priorities and ensure that patientcommitments / deadlines aremet.
• Proficiencyin the utilization of automated equipment and systems standards inthe optometryindustry

Qualifications :

• Highschool diploma GED orequivalent
• Experiencein the Ophthalmic / Optometric / medical industry is a plus but is notrequired
• Amenableto workingonsite
• CanspeakSpanish

PhysicalRequirements :

• Thephysical demands described here are representative of those thatmust be met by an employee to successfully perform the essentialfunctions of thisjob.
• Mustbe physically able to sit for long periods of time read a computerscreen for long periods of time reach and lift up to 20 lbs.

Handdexterity and eye and hand coordination are critical. The employeeis subject to inside environmental conditions. Employees schedulecould include afterhour projects as needed.
