Brief Overview

The Release Engineer will play a critical role in our mobile delivery space. Specifically, the Release Engineer will support our development and release processes focusing on the mobile delivery efforts. In this role, you will help build and release American Well solutions by maintaining the source repository and collaborating with developers and engineering to identify and resolve integration issues. The ideal candidate will be very familiar and proficient with IOS and Android based build and release processes and have experience working with the development environments of each. This role requires the strong communication and collaborative skills needed to organize and coordinate releases. This role also requires customer facing communication and collaborations which demand a professional demeanor.

Core Responsibilities

  • Managing mobile accounts
  • Onboarding new customers to our mobile offerings
  • Assembly, build and delivery of IOS & Android applications
  • Uploading IOS and Android Apps to Apple and Google Play stores
  • Troubleshooting any issues that arise during the development lifecycle and engaging with Apple/Google to resolve conflicts for app submissions.
  • Collaboration & communication with internal teams and customers for planning releases
  • Work with Engineering to coordinate deliveries and build cycles
  • Team collaboration on other group efforts to manage core application delivery needs.
  • Managing and troubleshooting CICD pipelines

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of work experience with XCode and Android Studio
  • 2-3 Years working with Git
  • Experience with CICD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or Gitlab
  • Python and shell scripting on CentOS\RedHat
  • Comfortable working on Windows/macOS and Linux environments.
  • Proficiency in using and administering CentOS boxes
  • Basic Java skills
  • Experience working with JIRA will be helpful
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Highly motivated and organized
  • Ability to learn quickly, take the initiative, and work in a fast-paced dynamic environment is essential
