Amyx is seeking to hire an Acquisition Specialist to support our Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) Assistance & Advisory Services (A&AS) subcontract in the Lorton, VA area.

The Acquisition Specialist supports DTRA’s On-Site Inspection & Building Capacity (OB) Directorate as part of the CTR A&AS subcontract. Responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Advise and support all phases of acquisition and contracting from initial planning through execution and contract/agreement closeout.- Provide advice regarding acquisition policies and approaches.
- Provide recommendations to adapt, apply, and embed acquisition best practices and lessons learned throughout the project life cycle.
- Provide acquisition support to project teams for their preparation of procurement request packages and modifications (example documents include statement of work, work breakdown structure, proposal content and evaluation criteria, market research reports, justifications for non-competitive actions, contract data requirements list, determination and finding, etc.).
- Support OB program financial management activities needed for OB acquisition program execution.
- Assist in tracking acquisition project-essential data.
- Assist in tracking performance metrics to track contract actions throughout the acquisition lifecycle.
Education/Experience:
The candidate must possess a bachelor's degree and over 3 years of relevant experience.
Federal Acquisition life-cycle experience.- Knowledge of federal and contracting (i.e., FAR) requirements.
- Proficient in drafting (for Government approval) procurement request package documents.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Prior DTRA acquisition experience.- Knowledge of DoD contracting (i.e., DFARS, DoD Series 5000) requirements.
- Experience working with the U.S. government acquisition.
- Excellent communication, written, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work on multiple projects which includes prioritizing, tracking, attention to detail, follow-up and follow-through to project completion.
- Flexibility/adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Current DoD SECRET clearance or higher.
