Overview

Amyx is seeking to hire a Business Analyst to support the Army's Chief Information Officer/W52P1J-18-F-0042 HQDA CIO/G-6 Policy and Resources Support located in the Pentagon, Arlington, VA (temporarily remote).

 

This position provides direct management and analytical support to the Tier three (3) Senior Executive Service (SES) Army Chief Information Officer (CIO), or the Tier 3 Senior Executive Service (SES) Deputy CIO (DCIO). Daily interactions across the Army, DOD and Joint leadership. Assignments may be broad in nature requiring originality, intuitive understanding of HQDA, DOD and Joint staff functions, and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.

 

  • Possesses and applies knowledge of key CIO and/or G-6 strategic plans, tasks, and issues which can address high impact assignments.
  • Coordinates across all CIO and/or Deputy Chief of Staff G-6 Directorates, Army Staff, Joint Staff, and OSD with all levels of personnel to include General Officers and Senior Executive Service Members.

  • Disseminate information, decisions and directives to CIO staff (military, civilian and contractor) personnel in order to execute and expedite high-priority actions.

  • Works independently and applies critical thinking and analysis to appropriately respond to requests for information or assign tasks to the subject matter expert within the Organization.

  • Prepares special one-time reports, analysis, summaries, or replies to inquiries, selecting relevant information from a variety of sources such as reports, documents, correspondence, other offices, etc.

  • Analyzes, prioritizes, and monitors tasks to completion to include coordination across all CIO and/or G-6 Directorates. Ensures all staffing actions meet HQDA and CIO staffing guidelines.

  • Composes correspondence, to include memorandums, executive summaries, and information papers, regarding administrative and organizational matters and general office policies for supervisor’s approval.

  • Able to analyze, interpret and prioritize Army, DOD and other Agency request for information, tasking and meetings to ensure critical stakeholders are involved.

  • Prepares materials needed for preparation and execution of conferences, correspondence, appointments, meetings, and telephone calls to ensure they support CIO and DCIO’s intent, objectives and goals. .

  • Provides comprehensive travel support through coordination with the visited/visiting agency for itinerary development, travel support, meeting agendas, and security requirements.

  • Provides comprehensive calendar and correspondence management.

  • Responsibilities

    • Gather and organize information in order to provide recommended solutions to related Army issues to the CIO, DCIO, Directors and Direct Reports.

    • Review all correspondence, briefings and other products being submitted to the CIO or to the DCIO ensuring these products are concise, accurate and properly formatted. Assist OCIO staff to refine or revise products suitable to Tier 3 SES products.

    • Manage the calendars of the "principal" ensuring that all required meetings and forums are attended by either the principal and a designated Director or Direct Report as well as ensuring the principal adequate time to perform his duties.

    • Report out transmission of all correspondence to the SECARMY, DOD CIO or senior DOD staff.

    • Conduct research, analysis and assign duties to the appropriate subject matter experts for response to the CIO's HQDA Tracking System Reports.

    • Monitor and report on Office of the CIO wide mandatory training and briefing for the staff.

    • Draft, review and edit correspondence for the CIO/DCIO including memorandums, executive summaries, information papers and facers for 'read books'.

    • Receive, review and forward 'read aheads' for the CIO or DCIO.

    • Develop and submit a Weekly Status Report.

     

    Supported Technologies:

    • Microsoft Office Outlook and/or O 365 including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and MS Project.
    • Experience operating the Army Task Management Tool is a big plus.

    Qualifications

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • The ideal candidate is a former Army, DA Civilian or contractor with service as HQDA staff officer with experience as Two-three staff General Officer or SES executive officer, assistant executive officer or member of HQDA Staff Initiative Group. Service in the HQDA G-6, G 3/5/7 or G-8 is a big plus.
    • Skills:
      • Excellent writing and briefing skills.
      • Ability to plan, coordinate and execute multiple and complex tasks simultaneously.

      • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills with junior, lateral, senior and very senior personnel. Experience directly supporting General Officers and Senior Executive Service personnel desired.

      • Strong research and analytical skills.

      • Familiarity with Army IT policy, resourcing, oversight and compliance is a plus.

    • Qualifications:
      • Current DOD Secret Clearance.
      • Two years previous experience as an executive officer, executive assistant or aide de camp for Army General Officer or SES.
      • Two year previous experience on the Army staff; experience in the CIO, G-6 or G-8 a plus.
      • One year previous experience Staff Action Control Officer procedures.
      • Former Army O-5, or equivalent years of experience.
      • BA from accredited university

     

    Desired Skills and Qualifications:

    • Former Army O-6
    • Former Signal or Finance Officer
    • Experience in Army Resource management
