Monday 10pm – Tuesday 7am
Tuesday 10pm – Wednesday 7am
Wednesday 10pm – Thursday 7am
Thursday 10pm – Friday 7am
-Provide support of a large number of Linux systems, databases, and network troubleshooting, and providing various technical solutions
-Research, proof, and author technical documentation that is beneficial to Ancestry
-Manage, track, and report on Incident cases via our automation tools and ticket tracking system
-Participate in team meetings and team projects as assigned
-Assist in managing open communication bridges with on-call rotational support groups and executives during outage events or as deemed necessary
-Ability to cover other shifts as needed (i.e.: days, weekends, and holidays)
-2 years experience in a continual, high-availability production environment
-2 years Linux System Administration in complex cloud environments
-Experience with monitoring, metrics collection, and reporting
-Familiarity in deploying Application Server ( .NET, IIS, Java or containers in multi-tier architecture)
-An understanding of TCP/IP LAN/WAN networking technologies and troubleshooting techniques, virtualization technologies
-Experience with relational and NoSQL database technologies (MSSQL, MySQL, Cassandra and CouchDB, etc)
-Experience with hardware or software-based firewalls, load balancers, intrusion detection systems and proxy servers
-Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Harness, chef, puppet
-Ability to work with minimal supervision, making decisions based upon priorities, schedules, and an understanding of business initiatives
-Critical attention to detail, thoroughness, and documentation
-Relevant technical knowledge of an Enterprise Cloud environment
-Working knowledge of Network and Systems operations, service-desk software, monitoring, and automation
-Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
-Exceptional verbal and written communication skills – must be able to convey complex ideas succinctly and clearly
-Demonstrated logical thought processes - must have the ability to quickly learn new technologies,
systems, concepts and procedures, and ability to utilize reports and data to improve operational results
-Ability to make quick operational decisions and sustain productivity among competing projects and schedules
-A solid understanding of the components required to provide a high-availability application and
networking environment is required
-The role requires talented people with a strong work ethic
As a signatory of the ParityPledge in Support of Women and the ParityPledge in Support of People of Color, Ancestry values pay transparency and pay equity. We are pleased to share the base salary range for this position: $62,000 - $72,000 with eligibility for bonus, equity and comprehensive benefits including health, dental and vision.
