Responsibilities
- Lead classroom, yard, and road course for CDL Class A license
- Perform evaluations through checklists and observation, as well as documenting progress.
- Monitor student progress, identify any gaps, and provide additional assistance as necessary.
- Maintain proper documentation, including daily attendance, tracking, evaluations, etc.
- Emphasize safety concepts, principles, and procedures.
3 Types of Instructors
Classroom- these individuals are inside the classroom going over all book material the drivers will need to pass their exam as well as other truck driver-related questions.
Range - Out on the range / driver pad. Showing the original skills of driving a truck. Rarely in the truck or in the driving seat with the students.
Road- out with 4 students or less. Each truck is modified to comfortably and safely fit all students and you in the truck.
Selected individuals will be responsible for preparing students for the Pre-Trip, Yard Skills, and Road Driving portions of their exam.
