What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager Laboratory position at Andalusia Health?
Determines, coordinates, schedules and manages daily staffing levels in conjunction with productivity and census levels.
Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to all staff and students.
Performs and/or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development program.
Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
Supports the Laboratory Director in all aspects of laboratory operations and fills in in his/her absence.
Ensures completion of staff competencies and other educational courses as assigned.
Other duties as assigned by the Laboratory Services Director.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree Required
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:
X Basic Life Support (BLS)
Licenses: Licensed by NCA, ASCP, HEW, HHS, or AMT.
