Summary: The Project Manager, reporting to the Systems Group Manager, is directly responsible for overall management of projects. This includes the coordination and completion of projects on time, within budget and within scope. Oversee all aspects of projects; manage quoting activities, coordinate resource planning, set deadlines, assign responsibilities, call meetings, and monitor and summarize progress of project. This includes internally working closely with the Application Engineers, other branches, Michigan Engineers, Purchasing, and Production teams. Prepare reports for upper management regarding the status of project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate project management meetings and activities for all systems opportunity quotes.
- Upon receipt of RFQ’s, kick off meetings to develop timeline for completing the quote, scope of work, resources required, and ensure quotes are entered in P21.
- Upon receipt of order, organize kick off meeting with original group involved in quote.
- Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared for each project awarded including schedule for production.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate change request system and verification techniques.
- Coordinate internal resources and release to production process for the flawless execution of projects using a detailed project plan to monitor, track progress, and track costs.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
- Report and escalate to management if/when needed.
- Oversee the fabrication efforts and ensure any and all changes are recorded timely for as-built conditions and updating of drawings.
- Ensure the timely invoicing of projects based on customer agreed payment terms.
- Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency.
- Develop spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/Skills/Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, fluid processing, or in related field preferred.
- Five years project management experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification desired.
