Position Summary:

The Business Solutions Consultant (BSC) is responsible for providing a proactive interface between the internal technical staff and the internal or external client (distributor or the carrier) to ensure effective definition, delivery and support of insurance distribution applications and solutions. 

An ideal candidate for this position is someone who proficient in the COLI Market of life insurance and with Non-Qualified Differed Compensation (NQDC) plans. This person should have a deep understanding of how plans are funded and experience with plan optimization.

This is a full-time position and is available to report to either the Allentown, PA or Sarasota, FL. Offices. The BSC will report directly to the Director of Client Relationships.

Training Objectives:

  • In the first 30-Days: You will have the opportunity to meet with employee-owners across all levels of the organization to better understand your role and responsibilities with respect to your department, while also gaining insight in to the history and culture of Andesa. You will learn the day-to-day functions of your position and gain and understanding of which business areas or departments you will be supporting.

  

  • In the first 60-Days: You will continue to build on what was learned in the first 30-days and be familiar with the tools and resources needed to perform your job. You will be trained to use the illustration application to support case design setup and issue resolution.

 

  • In the first 90-Days: You will be able to generate your own work independently and have a firm grasp on assigned duties.  You will be supporting the team that provides front-line client illustration support.

 

 

Primary Functions:

  • Be accountable for client deliverables, retention and satisfaction in a client services delivery/client facing environment;
  • Assist in the ongoing development and consultation of integrated business solutions utilized by Carriers and Brokers;
  • Conduct business needs analysis and develop business requirements, conceptual, and detailed system designs for Carrier and Broker based integrated business solutions;
  • Develop and maintain client relationships related to the delivery of distribution-based services, including sales, system demonstrations, direct client meeting attendance and support;
  • Serve as a system and industry resource for operations, development and testing;
  • Train clients in all aspects of the various systems, evaluate effectiveness of implemented technologies and make recommendations for improvement
  • > 25% travel required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree required; Graduate degree or CPA preferred; actuarial courses a plus.
  • 10+ years of similar work experience in the life insurance industry, including direct experience with Carrier home office or broker operations, product implementation, sales support, compliance, and staff/vendor management.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation (NQDC) planning and institutional insurance financing techniques.
  • Experience gathering/analyzing/documenting business requirements and data.
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience specifically in task delegation, scope, budget and change control.
  • Proven ability to adapt to and implement change.
  • Experience with COLI administration systems, processes, and procedures strongly preferred.
  • ASA, CLU, ChFC, or FLMI designations favorable
