Job Description
ANDRUS is looking for a Morning Shift Leader/Supervisor. The Morning Shift Leader is responsible for planning, monitoring and improving the overall morning program(s) to the children in the cottage. The Cottage morning shift leader is responsible for the supervision and development of all staff who work in the cottage, during their shift. The Morning Shift Supervisor is responsible to assess the group dynamics and group needs of all the children in the cottage, and to ensure the delivery of safe, structured, enriching and individualized programs for each child and for the group as a whole. In addition, the Cottage morning shift leader completes various tasks and is the liaison between overnight, morning and evening shift activity.
Minimum Requirements are:
- A minimum of an A.A. in a Human Service Field preferred.
- Two Years of Direct Care Experience.
- Strong Oral and Written Communication Skills
- Strong Organizational Skills.
- Experience Working with Children, Preferably in a Residential Setting.
- Must be willing to both work with clients with diverse characteristics that may include, but are not limited to any race, ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, physical and mental health histories, and differing socio-economic backgrounds.
Physical Requirements:
- Must possess the ability to: sit, stand, walk, run, climb stairs, and lift weights of up to 30 lbs.
- Have physical capacity to restrain or assist in the restraint of a child.
- Be able to hear and see well enough to provide appropriate supervision of children.
Working Conditions
- Hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30am to 2:30pm.
- 40 hour work week that includes possible rotating coverage of evening and weekend hours.
- This position has the ability to accrue up to 2 weeks (20 days) of vacation time annually.
- In the case of extreme weather or emergency situations must be available on-site.
