HUMAN RESOURCES SUPPORT ASSOCIATE
POSITION SUMMARY:
Perform a variety of Human Resources duties associated with HR administration, onboarding, payroll, benefits, maintaining confidential records, and customer service.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide administrative support to the Human Resources staff.
- Assist HR Manager by posting openings, coordinating recruiting, sourcing, interviewing and selection activities for union and management positions.
- Assist in design and distribution of recruitment and recruitment advertising materials.
- Ensure adherence to Anixter pre-employment standards, such as avoiding discrimination, pre-employment paperwork, background and reference checks, etc.
- Maintain current electronic job descriptions.
- Conduct New Employee Orientation and ensure completion of all new hire paperwork.
- Process new hire paperwork, personnel action forms, and ensure timely submission to payroll.
- Coordinate scheduling of exit interviews on terminating employees.
- Coordinate TB testing for specified positions, follow up on documentation for all new hires for CALOR, Ferst School and Substance Abuse. Track and coordinate all periodic renewal tests.
- Create and maintain personnel, medical and employee benefit files.
- Coordinate weekly new employee orientation and start dates.
- Schedule prospective employees’ fingerprinting and required testing.
- Assemble new hire packets for new employee orientation.
- Track performance appraisals and provide reminders to supervisory staff.
- Prepare and send offer letters to prospective employees.
- Complete annual licensure and certification registry checks of applicable staff.
- Formulate basic queries and reports.
- Respond to employment verifications.
- Coordinate daily incoming departmental correspondence.
- Support specific HR initiatives as needed. Other duties and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree or minimum of two years of administrative office support experience; preferable in human resources preferred. Excellent communication and organization skills required (written, telephone and electronic) including the ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality. Attention to detail and service oriented interpersonal skills a must. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft, such as Word, Access and Excel. Ability to maintain the highest level of professional demeanor in all areas. Experience with high performance teams and a strong team player.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the volunteer is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Schedule: Monday through Friday 9:00am-5:00pm, some weekend availability as needed.
4 days onsite with ability to work 1 remote day.
