What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager Advanced Practice Nurse Fellowship Program AHK position at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital?
Overview:
Provides operational, financial, strategic and human resource leadership to the APRN Fellowship Program. Plans, coordinates, communicates and evaluates development and productivity of APRNs throughout the duration of his/her fellowship. Recommends and supports the development of ongoing process improvement related to APRN practice. Helps develop and mentor APRN practice including templating, billing, customer service and practice. Builds and maintains strong, collaborative working relationships with departmental and institutional administrative, nursing, ancillary and support services and medical/surgical physician leadership to accomplish institutional and departmental goals. Facilitates, promotes and models a leadership philosophy and style consistent with the mission of Almost Home Kids/Lurie Childrens Hospital.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop curriculum and evaluation plan for the entire fellowship program, to begin January 2019.
2. Responsible for overall administration of the fellowship program; including all interviewing, scheduling, lectures, clinical oversight and evaluation.
3. Develop a tracking tool for reporting all learner data in a timely manner including interviews, clinical rotations and learner surveys.
4. Assists with APRN rotation between various departments throughout Almost Home Kids, Lurie Childrens, the University of Chicago and Northwestern working in conjunction with the educational liaisons and APRN managers. This includes setting up clinical agreements, scheduling rotations, distributing educational requirements and leading educational sessions.
5. Develops documentation and tracks progress to ensure grant compliance with AHKs Philanthropic Goals.
6. Participates in the operational planning process. Develops templates for independent practice in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics (DBP). Helps mentor and orient APRNs to independent practice.
7. Develops a practice that is in congruency with the most up to date legislative information to provide an environment that is utilizing the APRNs to the fullest extent of their education, license, certification and experience while expanding specifically on DBP knowledge.
Qualifications:
1. Masters degree in Nursing required.
2. Licensed in the state of Illinois as an APRN required.
3. Minimum of five years of experience practicing as an APN required
4. Previous supervisory experience in healthcare environment yes, 2 years required. Proven experience in effectively leading and managing people and resources.
