Shift: Monday- Friday (8am - 5pm)

JOB SUMMARY
The Speech Language Pathologist Licensed Assistant (SLPLA) position is responsible in the assessment, planning, development, and treatment of pediatric speech language pathology therapy services for individual clients and outside contract services. The SLPLA will implement speech and language programs or activities as planned and directed by SLPs.
QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)
Education and/or years’ experience required:
• Bachelor’s degree from an ASHA accredited school for SLP or Communications Disorder degree.
• Current North Dakota licensure as a speech-language pathology licensed assistant.
Preferred/Required Skills and Abilities:
• Preferred experience in the areas of pediatrics, young adults, adults, and/or developmental disabilities is desired.
• Ability to manage a caseload commensurate to their FTE status.
• Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills; being tactful, courteous, and diplomatic with internal and external contacts, including co-workers, clients, the team, other medical professionals, and families.
• Ability to adapt to rapid change and intervene promptly in crisis/emergency situations.
Supervision of others/decision making aptitude (if applicable): This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities; however, they may assist in providing direction to students completing their SLP student practicum and/or volunteers interested in the profession.
