What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Anova?
We are seeking an Accountant to prepare financial reports and execute the accounting close process for our Anova New Jersey location. Primary activities will include development of Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows. Additionally, this role will support weekly cash forecasting, year-end audit and tax compliance, and other related financial activities. This role will report to the Controller (North America).

ABOUT THE ROLE:
- Performs general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department
- Prepares periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements
- Maintains the general ledger
- Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books
- Completes bank reconciliation in coordination with Finance Shared Services
- Reconciles customer accounts and receivables in coordination with Finance Shared Services
- Verifies payment of invoices associated with Accounts Payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
- Supports year-end audit activities, gathering necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit under supervision of Controller
- Supports intercompany transactions, including multicurrency, multi-company, cross-functional transactions and reconciliation
- Supports tax compliance and statutory filing requirements for federal, state, and local government agencies
- Owns day-to-day finance activities within Anova New Jersey ERP (Epicor), including ongoing journal entries, GL management and maintenance, and recommending updates to enhance the efficient utilization of ERP
ABOUT YOU:
- 3-5 years of accounting experience required
- Extensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting
- Understanding of and ability to adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Highly proficient working within ERP (Epicor ERP experience preferred, but not required)
- Experience in a multi-company, multi-currency environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn / grow in the role
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related required
