Head of Supply Chain and Logistics

ANR Talent Search is partnering with a local Modesto client in need of a Head of Supply Chain and Logistics.

The Head of Supply Chain & Logistics will be responsible for managing our inventory, supply chain, and overseeing the activities of the distribution of company goods. The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee our raw material forecast and procurement, and to maintain our inventory program. The expectation of this role is to ensure our harvest packs and processing lines have all materials readily available to fulfill the daily/weekly production needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Identify and maintain resources and materials needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.

· Manage and source all packaging materials for our harvest fields packs and value added processing lines.

· Oversee all material forecasting and inventory management

· Develop and oversee the entire procurement process of all materials including bidding/contract negotiations

· Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.

· Negotiates prices for raw material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.

· Ensure all raw materials are complaint with all food safety programs including HACCP, FSMA, SQF, and PRIMUS.

· Develops and maintains detailed inventories of materials and supplies located in the company.

· Maintains required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production.

· Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.

· Manage cost analysis and vendor performance

· Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes.

· Identifies optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to consolidation of warehousing and distribution.

· Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions.

· Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.

· Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field

· Five years of experience of procurement or supply chain experience in a produce setting.

· Prior experience working and complying with retail and vendor landscapes, routing, backhaul opportunities, truck safety & DOT compliance, cold chain custody, product line, and seasonality.

· Experience with rigid containers, labels, film, poly packaging, corrugate, RPCs and pallets.

· Experience with both a processing environment and farming operation for leafy greens is a must

· Existing vendor relationships for paper, film, and ingredient sourcing

· Understands inventory management

· Proactive attitude and strong organizational skills

· Outstanding leadership, communication, and organizational skills

· Good communication and problem-solving skills

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Highest standard of integrity

· Strong knowledge of GAP’s, GMP’s, HACCP, Primus, LGMA, CCOF, FSMA, BRC, FDA

· Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred

· Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers

· Must be experienced and knowledgeable in the areas of food safety, product safety, product quality standards, document control, and regulatory issues pertaining to organic and conventional farming

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Pay: $83,259.00 - $93,149.00 per year
