JOB DESCRIPTION:
ANSER is seeking a Junior Personnel Security Specialist for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). The OCIO develops and maintains a single, DHS-wide Information Technology (IT) infrastructure environment that is reliable, accessible, and secure, ensuring operational excellence from the workstation to the data center to the mission application. The primary purpose of the position is to provide highly sensitive Security Support Services to include but is not limited to, pre-screening, investigative actions to determine the suitability, fitness, and security eligibility of individuals.
The Junior Personnel Security Specialist will be responsible for the following:
- Manage and conduct comprehensive background investigations and re-investigations while adhering to U.S. Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM's) suitability standards.
- Utilize OPM Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (E-QIP) system to grant access for applicants to submit security forms and process applicants through the security process.
- Perform data analysis, gap analysis, risk analysis, quality assurance, data entry, data processing and records management of personnel security background investigations.
- Assist front-end security intake processing through receiving security documents for processing through a centralized system.
- Assist back-end security intake processing through receiving and analyzing complete encrypted, password protected Contractor Security Fitness Forms.
- Monitor the Integrated Security Management System (ISMS) daily to track the status of applicant background investigations.
- Develop and deliver status reports briefing Government Contracting Officer Representatives (COR) and other stakeholders on the status of processing candidates.
- Send email communications, make phone calls and coordinate meetings with the appropriate representatives to implement security requirements.
- Assist receiving and coordinating Security entry and escort visitors for meetings.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate of Arts (AA) degree in relevant field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Personnel Security or in the processing of sensitive Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data.
- Knowledge, experience, and proficiency using OPM's E-QIP system preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products.
- Top-Secret clearance.

Salary : $89,500 - $113,000
