What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gym Manager position at Anytime Fitness?
We’re seeking someone with a sales-minded approach, excellent customer service skills, and a positive, energetic attitude for our next gym manager. You should be passionate about health and fitness and thrive in an environment that pushes you to exceed personal and team goals. Our ideal candidate brings at least a year of sales experience along with a good understanding of how to prospect leads through telemarketing, cold calling, walk-ins, and member referrals. - Welcome visitors and members to the gym, answer the phone, and book tours
- Acquire leads by contacting, messaging, or emailing new potential members by engaging with them at local events or gym walk-ins
- Maintain long-term members and grow the gym’s membership base through sales, new member onboarding, and excellent customer service
- Manage and organize marketing efforts both within and outside of the gym
- Handle members’ issues professionally and objectively, to resolve them through exceptional customer service
- Contact past dues to collect payment.
- Maintain follow-ups with prospects as well as current members
- Help maintain and insure daily cleaning of the gym is getting done
- Must have graduated high school, received a GED or equivalent
- Stays organized and manages time well
- You must have previous customer service experience for this position
- Preferred candidates will have 1 or more years of experience in sales or a similar related role
- Strong computer skills, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint) are needed
- Experience in the fitness industry is not required but preferred.
- Must have a passion for health and fitness
