DESCRIPTION
AP Professionals has partnered with a local company to find a talented Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will assist the Controller by handling accounts payable, treasury operations, reconciliations, and company credit card reimbursements in accordance with US GAAP/IFRS standards. This is an on-site position, Monday to Friday from 8AM to 5PM.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage accounting and general ledger activities, including reconciling the general ledger, performing variance analysis, tracking fixed assets, preparing journal entries for month-end close, and supporting the budgeting process.
- Ensure compliance with the corporate records retention policy by organizing electronic and paper files.
- Compile and analyze financial data to prepare reconciliations and entries for accounts, disbursements, and receipts, including month-end journal entries, accounts payable processing, and daily banking transactions.
- Research, track, and resolve account documentation issues and reconciliation discrepancies.
- Support financial operations by tracking actual to budget performance, forecasting, standardizing processes and analyses across all entities, and assisting with ERP system conversion.
- Process accounts payable in a manufacturing setting.
- Manage and reconcile P-cards (Purchasing Cards).
- Cross-train to provide backup for the Office Manager and payroll functions as needed, including phone coverage.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
EXPERIENCE
- At least 4 years of accounting experience.
