Position Overview

Directs corporate accounting for the companies of the Central West and leads transactional accounting shared business services based in Fayetteville, AR. This position reports to the Central West Region Finance Director.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Leads transactional accounting shared business services (A/P, Payroll, Cash Application, and Material Billing) based in Fayetteville, AR in support of the operating Central West companies of the Central West Region.
  • Champions collaboration with the West Division’s other shared business services teams based in Northern Utah and Spokane in efforts to identify best practices.
  • Champions collaboration with Regional Procurement team to ensure strategic alignment and better support for our stakeholders.
  • Champions collaboration with key business stakeholders to ensure share business service is able to support business initiatives.
  • Champions collaboration with the Overland Park, KS team to be a backup for each other’s team.
  • Oversees transactional accounting close processes and certain corporate accounting duties working closely with Central West’s regional controllers and other stakeholders.
  • Assists with budgets for administrative overhead and operating cash flow.
  • Ensures compliance with CRH America’s Materials and West Division policies and procedures and internal controls (SOX).
  • Performs / reviews balance sheet reconciliations including bank reconciliations, etc. Manages maintenance of banking information working with CRH America’s Materials treasury department.
  • Works closely with Central West Region Finance Director to pro-actively develop and implement efficiencies in all activities, focusing on reducing costs, cash flow, and process improvement initiatives across the region
  • Strong project management skills including the ability to prioritize among multiple requirements and deadlines
  • Problem-solving, critical thinking and the ability to drive change, including influencing skills
  • Lead external / internal audits and other compliance audits (sales, union, tax & use tax, etc.).
  • Coaches and motivates team.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Excellent communication (oral, written) and presentation skills
  • High standard of ethics, integrity, and trust
  • Strong work ethic
  • Proven ability to develop relationships and to work with teams as both a leader and a participant
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Orientation for action and driven for results

Preferences

  • Master’s degree in Accounting
  • CMA or CPA
  • 5 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to create SQL and Ad Hoc reports


Additional Requirements

  • Travel approximately 10%


Work Requirements

  • Must be 18 years in age or older.
