POSITION SUMMARY (Key tasks and outcomes):
The Projects Analyst, Retail Team possesses the knowledge necessary to provide APEX Operations with data-driven insights related to business performance used to advise and develop strategies for operational improvements and future business initiatives for use in maximizing recoveries and increasing efficiencies. This person will have the ability to articulate potential recovery opportunities and return on investment benefits available to the client, based on the knowledge of client data, systems, and processes. The BIS will leverage knowledge gained to enhance the audit team’s ability to maintain performance at a high level. This person must be able to work with various client teams and all levels within the APEX organization.
Primary Tasks/Activities:
- Design and build efficient, audit-ready data sets in conjunction with the Data Analysts and audit teams.
- Identify representative audit opportunities through systemic strengths and weaknesses in client procure-to-pay systems and identify the necessary data elements and routines necessary to realize said opportunities.
- Relate existing proprietary techniques to audit engagements and/or devise new techniques for each audit opportunity.
- Maintain documentation defining the fundamental relationships between data elements in the client systems and the corresponding elements in the APEX proprietary applications and data warehouses in support of the data transformation process.
- Install and implement proprietary application views and schedules for the client site or audit center.
- Partner with Audit Manager(s) to identify additional audit opportunities to maximize audit findings and efficiencies.
- Identify opportunities to leverage APEX resources as both “value added” services and “incremental revenue” opportunities.
- Uses statistical methods, modeling, analytical methodologies, and data analysis to develop and deploy tools including dashboards, infographics, reports, and models to inform and support decision-making.
- Mines, processes, and analyzes internal and external data using KPIs, business results, industry sources, competitor intelligence, and customer information.
- Responsible for leading various projects and working cohesively with teams that don’t report to them to complete tasks on budget and in a timely manner.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge Components:

Experience (Years and types):
Two to Four years of combined experience in the following areas:
- Accounting or Accounts Payable
- Retail recovery auditing processes and systems
- Business process analysis
- System implementation/change management
- Data acquisition processes
- Data transformation processes
- SQL script writing
- Project management
Education Levels/Credentials (Degree types and Emphasis):
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, Finance, or Information Technology is required
- Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Skills and Abilities and Other Characteristics:
