Teen Adventure Camp Director - Summer Bonus up to $1000

The Teen Adventure Director is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all daily activities for the Apex PRD Day Teen Adventure Camp. The Director must have demonstrated to the hiring authority maturity of judgment, administrative ability and the skill to appropriately supervise and direct school-age children in an unstructured setting. 

The Director will provide a safe, healthy and positive environment. Their daily responsibility is to schedule all day field trips, team building activities, schedule leadership opportunities for this age group. The Director will facilitate all field trips; discipline both to maintain positive daily outcomes and overall program management; assess the overall program to see if there are any changes that need to be made for optimum functioning; establish a procedure for handling all difficulties related to health, behavior and other problems and report incidents to the Recreation Coordinator.

Schedule will vary between 6:30 A.M. and 6:30 P.M. 

Monday thru Friday from May 30 through August 11

The Teen Adventure Director has satisfactory experience includes experience in the care and supervision of four or more children from the ages of eleven (11)-seventeen (17) years old, unrelated to the individual, since attaining the age of eighteen (18).

Is minimum 21 years of age

Obtains a valid Colorado Driver’s License, appropriate insurance coverage and acceptable driving record for the past three years

Have the ability to drive a 12-passenger van, with a clean driving record

Must have a satisfactory review with the Central Registry of Child Protection

Provide 3 references

Will receive CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration and Universal Precautions Certified required within 90 days of hire.

High School diploma required.

Experience taking care of children, ages 5 to 12 years, in a public atmosphere required.

Must have customer service experience and good conflict management skills.

Knowledge of youth games, activities, and arts and craft projects also desired.

Ability to be on your feet for 6-8 hours at a time and lift 40lbs.

The noise level in the environment is moderate to loud. Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, including summer sun and temperatures. Work will be performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. Occasional travel by automobile is required to reach a recreation activity site located away from the Recreation Center.

2023 Summer Bonus Program Details:

Any part-time, non-benefit eligible employee who successfully works a set number of minimum hours (as outlined below) will receive a one-time bonus for hours worked. This bonus program is scheduled to begin effective May 21, 2023, and end on August 12, 2023. This means that the Apex employee must begin working no later than the week of June 18, 2023, to complete the requirements of the program. Bonuses for hours worked will be paid on the September 1, 2023, payroll. 

• Any part-time non-benefitted employee who successfully works an average of 20 - 31.99 hours per week (40 – 63.99 hours per biweekly pay period), will earn $500 at the end of the season (minimum of four pay periods). 

• Any part-time non-benefitted employee who successfully works an average of 32 - 40 hours per week (64 - 80 hours per biweekly pay period), will earn $1,000 at the end of the season (minimum of four pay periods).
