Job Description - Assistant General Manager (AGM)
The role of AGM is integral in the day to day operations of the restaurant. You are expected to have a strong knowledge of our restaurant, our products, and service mechanics in order to adequately lead by example. In addition to assisting the service staff in maintaining our SOPs during service, you will also be responsible for daily and monthly administrative tasks before service. The AGM is an exempt, salaried position, and shall report directly to the General Manager and Chef Peter Hemsley. The expected schedule is Tuesday-Saturday, from approximately 12pm-12am or according to the business needs at the time.
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)
- Audit timesheets to ensure that employee hours and breaks are accurate.
- Setup the nightly table map so that there are no overlapping turns and all possible seating requests from our guests are accommodated.
- Answer all emails in a timely manner both from your personal work inbox as well as the general inquiry inbox.
- Maintain working knowledge of all restaurant offerings.
- Maintain SOPs during service through constant staff correction.
- When the restaurant is absent an Event Director, you will be responsible for responding to leads and organizing events utilizing Tripleseat.
- Update website whenever there is a product change.
Job Requirements (Preferred)
- A minimum 2 years working in a fine dining restaurant.
- Wine, spirits, and cocktail knowledge.
- Experience with serving a multi-course tasting menu.
- Proficient with restaurant operation software- Tock, Toast, and Tripleseat
- Proficient with Adobe InDesign and Shopify
