What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Clerk position at APPLE BANK?
Accounting Clerk
Responsible for storing the accounting department’s daily reports according to Apple Bank's company procedure and into the appropriate folders using Docuware software. Also responsible for the processing of daily operational work within Apple Bank’s Accounting Department processing general ledger entries and processing transactions to customer accounts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process general ledger entries.
- Process incoming wires to customer bank accounts.
- Prepare accounting teller totals proof & Branch daily difference general ledgers
- Scan critical documents for record retention in Docuware.
- Store documents in the proper folder and doctype in Docuware.
- Maintain scanning spreadsheets and prepare activity logs as needed for department.
- Assure all items belonging to the scanned document package is complete
- Conduct quality assurance on scanned documents, appropriate dates, approvals etc.
- Verify and mail out IRD customer notices.
- Act as backup to department team members regarding various responsibilities
SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 1 year experience in Accounting or Finance, preferably at a financial institution.
- Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products, including Excel & Word.
- Strong communication skills (verbal written).
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytic skills required.
- Must be detail-oriented, with superior organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage tight deadlines.
- Must be a team player.
- Self-motivated, with high initiative and able to work with minimal supervision.
