ABOUT THE PARK…
Pontchartrain Landing RV Park & Marina is a gated, casual marine RV Resort combined of RV park sites and a marina with villas for rent, full restaurant and bar, and banquet space for seating up to 200. The property is located on 31 acres, 12 minutes from the New Orleans French Quarter, and offers a range of accommodations and rental units including 160 full-service RV sites.
ROLE SUMMARY...
The General Manager is responsible for all the operational aspects and profitability of the property. In this role, the incumbent will plan, organize and lead a team; serve as the day-to-day point of contact for guests, always creating a positive atmosphere and excellent guest service experience. As the GM, you are a thoughtful leader and confident decision maker, helping our talent develop and be productive while ensuring our profits are on the rise. This is a full property management position overseeing not only the front office but maintenance as well.
WHAT YOU'LL DO …
- Adhere to Applebrook Homes operating principles.
- Deliver exceptional service by responding timely to our guests and prospective guest inquiries.
- Work with marketing to increase reservations and occupancy and further promote our brand.
- Handle and resolve guest and resident complaints.
- Coordinate team member selection, training, scheduling and development for property staff and ensure all team members comply with appropriate policies and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager to quickly and effectively address issues that would adversely affect the operation of the property or guest satisfaction.
- Enforce Property rules and standards.
- Monitors monthly operating expenses.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local agencies that regulate fair housing laws and resort operations.
- Oversees capital expenditure improvements with the guidance of ownership.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ten years of proven experience managing operations within the hospitality industry or property management, preferably of an RV Resort and Marina.
- AD or BA degree in business or relevant field (Preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Intermediate computer proficiency including the ability to use email and the internet.
- Ability to use MS suite of products and property management software.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent leadership skills
- Able to work independently as well as on a team.
- Conflict management
JOB SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Physical Activities: Constantly sit; Frequently stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear
- Lifting Requirements: Up to 25 lbs.
- Environmental Conditions: Exposure to outside changing weather conditions (heat, cold, rain) and noise.
