What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wire Room Technician position at Applicantz.com?
Please Note, the client is looking for two individuals for this role, ideally, they want (1) on 1st shift and (1) on 2nd shift however they are flexible if we find candidates that can do either or.
Also, OT will be required including on weekends
The first shift is 6:30 to 3:00 with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
The second is 2:30 to 11:00 with a 30-minute unpaid lunch.
Safety Shoes/Glasses/Hearing Protection
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Fabricating automotive electrical wire harness assemblies.
- Vehicle electrical system troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Assist engineering staff with instrumenting test articles, test setup, and test breakdown for validation activities.
- Assisting engineering in conducting validation activities, including collecting and documenting needed data. Data collection, documentation, compiling, and analysis during testing.
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, performing preventative maintenance, and repairing of test equipment.
- Build or modify test equipment/fixtures.
- General labor around the facility.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Relevant skills and experience with electrical harness fabrication and vehicle tests.
- Building prototype wire harness assemblies. including soldering electrical wires.
- Vehicle electrical system troubleshooting and diagnostics.
- Familiar with oscilloscopes and digital voltage ohmmeters.
- Collecting data using a Canalyzer and/or similar devices.
- Experience with high-voltage cables for EVs.
- Able to read vehicle and automotive component electrical schematics.
- Ability to read and comprehend engineering drawings, specifications, diagrams, and instructions.
- Able to follow detailed instructions.
- Career experience in the heavy truck/automotive industry.
- Basic MS Office knowledge.
