Qualifications:
Elementary Education K-6. (Endorsement 1810) or Elementary Education K-8. (Endorsement 1811)
- Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in social studies or similar.
- NH certified in teaching Social Studies.
- Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
- Knowledge of elementary school curriculum and concepts.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience for the appropriate grade levels (K-6).
- A valid drivers license is required.
Reports to: Principal
Position Summary: The successful candidate for Birch Behavioral school will ensure delivery of specified course content, uses effective strategies for teaching, interacts positively, professionally, showing respect for students while overseeing student engagement in lessons that are planned to meet curriculum standards in the area of elementary Social Studies. This position will work with education personnel to ensure content delivery focused on "hands-on" approach to instruction in the area of Social Studies. PLC availability is part of this consultation model.
Responsibilities of the Position:
- Identifies materials and curriculum that are engaging and age appropriate for students.
- In person consultation on-site minimum 2x per month- required.
- Regular and predictable attendance and presence at respective center is an essential requirement of position.
- Assists with providing learning experiences in Social Studies guided by the NH state curriculum guidelines, while creating an environment that is conducive to a student’s learning and involvement.
- Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning.
- knowledgeable in the content area standards and demonstrate a commitment to bringing learning to life for students of all ability levels.
- Supports the development and administration of school elementary curriculum consistent with school goals and objectives.
- Evaluates, tries innovative approaches, and refines instructional strategies, including the effective use of technologies available to teachers, to increase student learning, involvement, and confidence to learn.
- Supports education personnel with development of activities for classroom instruction.
- Participates as a team member regarding student special education Individual Education Plan (IEP) as requested and to implement individual education plans as required.
- Maintains state certification through approved professional development activities.
- Follows policies, procedures, goals, and approved curriculum for content areas.
