The Complaint Evaluation Technician will support activities related to the safety and quality of Applied's medical devices through the analysis of customer complaint information. The team member is responsible for participating in the investigation of customer complaint events and the associated product to determine the root cause and suggest appropriate corrective/preventive actions. Must be capable of working within a team environment, striving to meet or exceed customer expectations, and committing to continuous improvements in quality.
Position Description
As a Complaint Evaluation Technician, you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:
- Investigate and analyze medical device complaints
- Review details surrounding customer complaint event and initiate further inquiries as necessary to obtain a clear understanding of the situation
- Evaluate product returned by the customer to determine design and/or manufacturing non-conformances, use errors, or other conclusions related to the event
- Use root cause analysis and failure analysis techniques to investigate, assess, and reach conclusions
- Perform device testing in accordance with pre-approved protocols/test methods and data recording requirements
- Propose corrections, corrective actions and/or preventative actions, as necessary
- Compose detailed reports to document results from the investigation
- Incorporate risk management into evaluations, ensuring patient and user risk is minimized and acceptable
- Ensure timeliness and appropriate thoroughness of evaluations
- Execute test protocols and reports, conduct various testing, collect and analyze data and trends
- Assist project engineers to meet due dates, complete milestones and day-to-day engineering tasks

Preferred
The following skills and attributes are preferred:
- High School graduate, or equivalent technical experience
- Experience conducting failure investigations, reliability testing, and/or performing failure analysis leading to root cause and corrective/preventive actions
