Position Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Evaluation and Approval: Implement robust evaluation processes for potential suppliers, assessing their capabilities and quality management systems to ensure they meet the stringent standards necessary for medical device manufacturing.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with suppliers to identify areas for improvement in quality processes, drive corrective and preventive actions, and establish continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall product quality and reliability.
- Risk Management: Develop and implement risk management strategies related to supplier processes, identifying and mitigating potential risks to product quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Quality Audits: Conduct thorough assessments and audits of supplier processes, systems, and facilities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards in the medical device sector.
Performance Objectives:
During your first 30 days, you will:
- Learn about Applied Medical’s mission and vision and take part in a variety of Applied Learning foundational courses
- Discuss your goals and expectations with your team leaders and read and review all relevant team resources and materials
- Immerse yourself in team meetings and discussions
Within 60 days, you will:
- Exhibit a strong technical understanding of the supplier control process
- Support team meetings and agendas
- Lead supplier audit with low to moderate guidance
- Perform supplier evaluation
Within 90 days to 1 year, you will:
- Develop interpersonal connections and relationships with others to effectively accomplish tasks objectives and deliverables
- Lead supplier audit with minimal guidance or direction
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Applied Medical’s Quality Management System (QMS) and effectively troubleshoot challenges or obstacles that may affect project timelines
- Handle a variety of projects on your own
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) field or related education and experience
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Excellent technical writing skills
- Work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Read, analyze, and interpret complex documents
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Preferred
- Experience in quality role.
- American Society for Quality - Certified Quality Auditor (ASQ-CQA), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), or Certified Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP)
- Understanding of manufacturing, quality, and risk management standards
