Position Purpose
Overall duty of this position is to coordinate the day-to-day administration, delivery and execution of the Rope Access practices and procedures. The IRATA Level 1 ensures compliance is met with client QA/QC reporting, site safety and progress reports.
Due to the nature of this position there will be on-call and overtime requirements as well as some travel.
This position is based in Newfoundland at the Bull Arm Fabrication Site.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Servicing existing Rope Access accounts by providing project management, technical representation, responding to client service requests.
- Maintaining a high level of expertise in relevant technology and applying continuous learning strategies to stay current with all aspects of work within Rope Access.
- Ensuring that all equipment assigned to Rope Access is kept in functional condition and maintained in accordance with corporate, industry and or client standards, policies and specifications.
- Monitor and promote initiatives to ensure their successful completion on time and within budget.
- Ensures all work activities are performed in compliance with Applus HSE policies and client HSE requirements.
- Performing any additional tasks assigned by client.
- Scheduling walk downs with clients and the appropriate support teams.
- Completing work site compliance checks as required.
- Preparing IRATA, stewardship, KPI reporting for clients, head office and safety.
- Adhering to organizational policies and procedures, including but not limited to Applus Code of Ethics and Confidentiality Agreements.
- Other duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.

Education and Work Experience
- Current Industrial Rope Access Trade Association, (IRATA) Level 1 Certification.
- A minimum of one year experience in Rope Access in a related field.
- A minimum of one year experience in oil and gas or industrial environments.
- Equivalent industry experience combined with other formal training and accreditations may be accepted.
Working Conditions
- Required to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid and dry/arid conditions in temperature extremes and inclement weather.
- Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials in various working environments.
- Commonly exposed to walking on slippery or uneven surfaces.
- Occasionally required to work in noisy/loud working environments especially on project sites.
- Work outside of normal business hours will be occasionally required.
- Overtime required during the week and weekend with work volume.
- Ability to be flexible with work schedules and respond to requests without advance warning or notification.
- Occasional to frequent travel will be required within Canada.
- Working conditions will vary between project locations.
