VP of Engineering

This is a remote position. Join us in steering Apporto’s engineering endeavors and leading our innovative products into the next phase of growth. As the VP of Engineering, you will not only be pivotal in advancing our technology, but also in sculpting and nurturing our Engineering and QA teams. The Ideal candidate would be:

A Seasoned and Technical Leader with 6 years of steering engineering teams and technologies, ensuring customer-centric and high-value problem-solving engineering efforts. An Empathetic Team Developer with over 8 years of crafting and nurturing high-output teams through strategic recruitment and mentoring. A Strategic and Operational Expert with 4 years of aligning technological innovation with business objectives and managing pivotal engineering milestones. An Executive-Level Communicator and Strategist adept in mapping business and technology strategies and ensuring clear communication across all levels. A Veteran in Product Development with 6 years, leading comprehensive phases of engineering design and development from conception to commercial deployment. A Project Management Specialist with 4 years, ensuring meticulous planning, budgeting, and successful project execution. And a Navigational Problem Solver, steering through challenges and complexities with a solution-oriented and positive mindset, ensuring steadfast project progression even through uncharted territories.

Technical and Customer-Centric Leader: Build and scale our engineering teams and technologies, serving as a technical leader who will prioritize customer requirements and feedback, ensuring our engineering efforts are squarely aimed at solving high-value customer problems.

Expert in Recruitment and Team Development: Apply your empathetic and emotionally intelligent leadership style to build high-output teams, recruiting, mentoring, and retaining top engineers and leaders, ensuring a collaborative and innovative environment.

Strategic and Operational Thinker: Align technological innovation with our business objectives, overseeing budgetary and schedule planning, and managing capital allocation to hit our engineering milestones.

Executive Communicator and Strategy Mapper: Be proactive in your oral and written communication skills to report to the CEO, mapping our business strategy with technology strategy, and ensuring clear and effective communication with both the team and executive leadership.

Product Development Leader: Lead all phases of engineering design, development, and validation, steering our products from design to commercial field deployment, and ensuring they meet the highest standards and customer needs.

Project Execution Specialist: Drive all our engineering activities, from design and architecture to project planning, budget, and schedule management, and managing partner relationships, ensuring our projects are executed successfully and efficiently.

Problem Solver Amidst Complexity: Navigate through challenges with a solution-oriented mindset, steering through ambiguity and complexity with a positive attitude, ensuring our projects stay on course even amidst uncharted territories.

• Extensive Leadership Experience: A minimum of 6 years of engineering leadership experience, demonstrating the ability to build, scale, and lead both engineering teams and technologies effectively.
• Proven Recruitment and Team Development: A solid track record over 8 years in attracting, recruiting, retaining, and growing top engineering talent, with a focus on mentoring and developing high-output teams.
• Strategic and Operational Management: At least 4 years of experience showcasing the ability to strategically align technological innovation with business objectives, manage budgets, schedule planning, and capital allocation to achieve engineering milestones.
• Executive Communication and Strategy Mapping: A minimum of 4 years of experience in effectively reporting to the CEO, mapping business strategy with technology strategy, and communicating effectively with both team and executive leadership.
• Product Development Expertise: A robust 6 years in engineering, leading all phases of engineering design, development, and validation, and successfully bringing products from design to commercial field deployment.
• Project Execution and Management: At least 4 years of experience in driving all engineering activities, from design and architecture to project planning, budget and schedule management, and managing partner relationships, resulting in successfully executed projects.
• Problem Solving in Complex Scenarios: Demonstrated ability to approach challenges with a solution-oriented mindset, skillfully navigating through ambiguity and complexity with a positive attitude, ensuring projects stay on course even in uncharted territories.
• Customer-Centric Approach: Proven experience in prioritizing customer requirements and feedback to ensure engineering efforts are consistently focused on solving high-value customer problems.
• Service-Oriented Leadership: A service mentality that recognizes the needs of your team as paramount, striving to advocate, unblock, and motivate them as they do their best work.
• Innovation and Risk Management: Demonstrated experience in formulating strategies for technological innovation and integration, managing risk, and prioritizing resource allocation effectively.
