Requirements
- Solid networking knowledge – STP, VLANs, Trunking, Static/Dynamic Routing
- Cisco IOS knowledge (ASA Firewalls, switches and routers) – Programming and troubleshooting system health, ACLs, NAT, and debug logs
- Knowledge of Remote Access IPSec VPNS (Cisco Anyconnect, Aruba VIA)
- Knowledge of Site-to-Site IPSec VPNs (Cisco, Aruba, Juniper)
- Knowledge of load balancing concepts and algorithms
- Knowledge of DNS, NTP, and DHCP network services.
- Experience with Linux operating systems, automated kickstart installations, command-line administration including some bash/shell scripting
- Understanding of Linux software/tools – i.e. tcpdump, syslog, Apache Tomcat, HA/DRBD, PAM
- Understanding of SNMP and Network Monitoring Solutions
- Cisco CCNA/CCNP is Desired
- Possesses or ability to obtain a SECRET or above Clearance
Abilities
- Monitor, manage, and troubleshoot issues with software and networking and server hardware located within a customer data center
- Act as an escalation path for co-workers; on-call rotation required
- Promote and foster a strong team environment
- Provide backup to the VoIP Engineer
- Support co-workers in challenging situations
