APS Pharmacy is a fast-paced compounding pharmacy in Palm Harbor, FL! We are looking for a Microbiologist with cleanroom experience to add to our growing quality team!
Position Summary:
- Perform environmental monitoring activities for the 503A clean rooms which includes sampling, plate reading, and data analysis.
- Monitor and trend temperature and humidity conditions throughout the facility.
- Participate in investigations and system and procedural development.
Essential Elements of the Job:
- Plans and implements viable and non-viable environmental testing in the controlled environments.
- Prepare and send out samples for microbiological identification.
- Read, trend, and report environmental testing results.
- Initiate OOS or Environmental Monitoring Excursion Investigations
- Work with Quality Manager, QC Technicians, and any other personnel needed to ensure quality system and environmental monitoring programs are implemented completely.
- Perform document and process reviews as assigned by leadership.
- Assist in receiving of components, API, and nonactive ingredients.
- Participate in label printing and label reconciliation.
- Perform in-process inspection activities associated with compounded sterile products and batch record documentation.
- Recognize and report any aberrant test and/or sample conditions.
- Maintain Good Documentation Practices.
- Setting an example by always following assigned SOPs
- Perform QC duties as assigned leadership. This may include in-process visual inspections, purchased raw material and component inspections.
Essential Skills and Experience: ·
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences or related degree
- Experience in a microbiology laboratory and microbiological analytical knowledge in a pharmaceutical environment or similar.
- Knowledge of compounding and pharmaceutical regulations
- Understanding of USP <797> requirements.
- Must exhibit excellent attention to detail.
- Must exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must exhibit excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
- Multitasking skills
- Good computer skills (data entry, Microsoft Office products, email, internet, HR Software systems)
- Ability to work as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment.
Typical Working Conditions:
- Must be able to gown for ISO 5/7/8 area.
- This position may require the handling of laboratory chemicals.
- Must be able to work in a variety of positions and locations such as sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and walking, for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to use necessary equipment such as computers, scanners, phone/headset, or other technology devices as assigned.
