Job Overview:
Coal combustible residuals (CCR) Project Manager capable of immediately contributing to the growth and success of APTIM's Commercial Environmental Remediation and Construction Business. This a national business line and serves commercial and state and local clients by self-performing their environmental construction projects. The CCR Project Manager will be assigned complex projects within the CCR program.
The CCR Project Manager should have direct on-site construction experience on CCR ponds and landfills. Experience should include grading, solidification, dewatering, capping and all other tasks associated with their closure.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Responsible for all phases of planning and execution on projects as defined by potential risk, complexity, and labor requirements.
- Management of all phases of project activities that range from small to large in value and a variety of scopes that include engineering, applied science, procurement, construction and /or operations. Directs preparation of work plans, supervises project teams, and manages project scope, budget and schedule. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
- Project Manager will develop a project plan, assemble the proper personnel, develop a project timeline, identify required resources and execute the plan to completion.
- Complete accountability for specific construction projects from Pre-Construction to the Project Close Out Phase.
- Study proposals, plans, specifications, and related documents; analyzing labor, material, equipment and time requirements; assembling & arranging numerical and descriptive information.
- The CCR Project Manager reports to Director of Operations for the Business Line
- May have responsibility for multiple projects.
- Establishes and monitors project safety and quality programs.
- Plans, organizes, coordinates, and controls projects in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements.
- Supervises project personnel through subordinate leaders.
- Supports business development activities and may serve as a proposal manager.
- Represents the company when dealing with clients and maintains client relationships
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have direct on-site construction experience on CCR impoundments and landfills.
- Requires a comprehensive knowledge of construction-related processes, as well as a thorough knowledge of industry practices.
- Proven leadership and management capability.
- Good written and oral communications skills.
- Experience should include grading, solidification, dewatering, capping and all other tasks associated with CCR closure.
- 4-year degree in construction-related field (or equivalent construction-related work experience).
- 7 years of experience in field construction is required
- Good knowledge of insitu-stabilization techniques and civil construction techniques associated with CCR or other waste material
- Experience with environmental remediation and landfill construction required
- Has accountability for managing financial resources
- Interprets business issues and adapts work priorities in own area
- Manages budget for own area and allocates resources accordingly
- Resolves operational, customer, employee or technical problems that impact the effectiveness of own area
- Manages the performance of employees by setting goals, performing timely assessments and evaluations, and coaching
