Position Summary


Support fabrication and testing for renewable hydrogen production. The core competencies required for this position are fluid systems (gas and liquid), instrumentation and controls (voltage, current, temperature, pressure, force, etc.), electrical circuits, data organization and analysis, and experience with SOPs and document control. The Test Technician will also be expected to contribute to process development and improvement of electrolyzer fabrication. The scope of this position will include test setup and operation to assist the development team in achieving a wide range of test objectives.


Essential Functions

  • Testing is a critical component of electrolyzer development, and the Test Technician will work with a small multidisciplinary team in the planning, execution, analysis, as well as communication of results to the development team.
  • Assemble electrolyzer components and systems under development for renewable energy applications according to internally standardized protocols.

Assist in process control and process improvement for fabrication of test units.

  • Assist in the fabrication and implementation of fixtures and process equipment to expand test capabilities.
  • Manage and coordinate the ordering of lab materials and supplies for uninterrupted process demonstration efforts
  • Track and maintain records of test progress and communicate status to the development team
  • Coordinate with the development team for sample analysis.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Recent BS graduate in Engineering or Physical Science, or 5 years of experience with technical/associates degree including testing of complex process equipment in fields such as electrical, medical, aerospace, or chemical.
  • The position requires critical thinking as it pertains to troubleshooting, operational changes, and safety practices. Expectations for this position are to provide feedback to continuously improve processes and procedures related to first-of-a-kind technology.
  • Detail oriented and disciplined at keeping test and equipment maintenance logs
  • Hands-on experience and strong capability with operating automated test units.
  • Fundamental understanding of electrical circuits and test instrumentation (voltage, current, pressure, temperature, etc.)
  • Ability to quickly learn SOPs and improve existing processes and procedures to help improve the product and accelerate development
  • Knowledge of and commitment to excellent laboratory safety practices
  • Desire to learn and grow with a small company in a fast-paced environment
