What will you be doing?

The BPO Accounting Specialist is responsible for the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions of the BPO Finance Department, as well as the completion of other minor financial tasks, as needed. Applicants should possess very strong organizational skills to succeed in this role. Strong technical skills are also required in order to navigate and work with different technical systems. The position entails daily verbal and written interaction with internal team members and clients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Processing daily deposits

Conduct daily Receivables audits; reviewing daily financial transactions

Posting financial transactions in accounting system

Advancing departmental goals and mission by assisting with special projects and other duties as assigned

Creating and maintaining guides and in-house process documentation

Cross-training for Payables functions

Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree required

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or experience in related field preferred

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

1-2 years of Finance and/or Accounting experience preferred

Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel software applications required

Great Plains or other accounting software experience is a plus (although not required)

Prior funding, claims, or medical stop loss experience is a plus (although not required)

Preferred: 1-2 years of VBA, SQL, and/or Microsoft Access experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Sitting for long periods of time while working on a computer

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Hybrid: modern office suite in high rise building in downtown Chicago two (2) days per week

WORK SCHEDULE:

During normal business hours, Monday-Friday
