General Description of Duties
The design assistant is responsible for supporting the efforts of the Lead Designers/Project Managers in all tasks related to design projects.
Reporting Relationship
This position reports to the Lead Designers/Project Managers
Education
Interior design degree preferred
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with the design process, including:
· Research client's design styles and create inspiration boards
· Help create design client presentations for proposed design concepts
· Help make material and fixture selections
· Place and track material orders
· Research new materials and make connections with new vendors and representatives
· Organize and stock materials library with new products
· Run design related errands
Assist with the product management process, including:
· Check on jobsites to ensure that construction is on schedule and implemented accurately
· Maintain quality control
· Meet with sub-contractors on-site regarding project and design details
Requirements
· Proficient in CAD and Photoshop
· Hand rendering and proficiency in “InDesign” a plus
· Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
· Strong creative eye that is attune to the look and feel of AR Interiors design
· Must be self-motivated and willing to take initiative when a need arises
