Test Technology Division (TTD) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking an Operations Manager to provide assistance at our explosives test range. We are looking for an individual to oversee and administer tasks relating to the day-to-day operations on our test facilities located in Moriarty. These tasks will relate to materials, scheduling labor force, maintaining equipment and worksite / workforce safety. The position shall be responsible for assisting engineers and scientist in ensuring that all projects are completed on schedule and on budget. Strong interest in innovation and problem solving as part of a team are required.
The candidate should have a background in laboratory and/or test range activities and general construction management with a minimum 15 years of in the field experience. Excellent organizational skills, with strong attention to detail are required. Duties will include maintaining a schedule for all technicians, holding all scheduling and scoping meetings with our engineers/managers, working in the field, working with internal clients to ensure quality standards are being met, inspection of site and fabricated materials, and ensuring alignment of staffing and activities with required results.

Essential Functions:
- Work with attention to detail while multitasking and meet deadlines
- Support fielding activities at the worksites while maintaining the structures
- Act as a foreman on outdoor test sites (and remote sites as necessary)
- Coordinate construction with heavy equipment
- Organize team fabrication efforts (concrete, steel, rebar, carpentry, and machining)
- Work within OSHA and MSHA safety compliance and oversight
- Procure and purchase materials as needed
- Schedule crew, equipment, and subcontractors as required
- Provide support to the ARA staff while conducting tours etc. with potential clients
- Integrate quality assurance practices
Experience and Skills Required:
- Bachelors degree in technical or scientific discipline
- Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance
- US citizenship is required
- Self-motived with time and project management skills
- Ability to work well within a team and achieve assignments independently
- Ability to document and communicate progress and spending with MS Office tools such as Project and Excel
- Experience in excess of 15 years
