The Capital Area Division (CAD) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking a Program Support and Operations Analyst. This person must be a motivated self-starter with a broad array of interests and experience to provide support to the Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)). This position is onsite at a Government location in the National Capital Region (and telecommuting where approved). The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in interfacing with senior Government personnel, as well as industry and academia. The candidate should be highly skilled in developing and editing written documents, as well as presentations. The candidate should enjoy working to support teams, guiding peers through processes and procedures to help them achieve goals and perform tasks. The candidate should be willing to tackle tasks and subject matter outside of their normal lanes and interests. In this position the employee will exercise situational awareness of major activities areas across the program.
Responsibilities:
- Learn and understand the organizational hierarchy and the constituent portfolios
- Prepare documents and serve as final internal reviewer for staffing packages (i.e., a collection of documents constituting an official response), ensuring both accuracy in formatting, readability, and clarity of purpose.
- Review reports and briefings to correct, suggest improvement, identify gaps, interpret reporting requirements, and help integrate official feedback.
- Review incoming tasks and assign to proper team, facilitate completion and submission to leadership, and monitor and report on progression through the approval chain of command
- Exercise records management and maintain up to date file collections on guidance and processes, providing guidance to team members
- Perform as a meeting and working group representative and provide meeting and conference support. This may include supporting logistics, developing documents for attendance, notes, back-briefs, and advance briefing documents and materials for preparation of officials.
- Independently find resolutions to problem sets/challenges, leveraging peer contacts and understanding of the organization.
- Manage workflow of peers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience in policy development, medical sciences, applied or basic research, human factors, or government laboratories, infrastructure, and workforce is a plus.
- The work location is at the Pentagon or Mark Center (with the potential for remote work with prior authorization).
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of recent and relevant work experience in program/project management.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
- TS clearance with SCI eligibility
- At the discretion of the Government, specialized experience may be substituted in lieu of specific educational requirements.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Management, Database Structures, or other relevant field is preferred.
